This week has been full of doctor visits and I feel the need to vent. I took Tate to visit with his plastic surgeon today. I was informed in a condescending tone that we have at least a year to go and three more skin expanders to go through. I guess he forgot that he told me this would be the last one since he looked at me like I was crazy when I told him that. He is so ridiculously hard to communicate with;
I said," so are we gonna have his next surgery soon? Its is getting to its maximum capacity and Its been 4 months." Him: "it has been three. November,December and January.( I guess he doesn't consider October a month for some reason) and there is no maximum capacity(in his mind we could just fill it up till it bursts). Then he says, " on Feb first(in 4days) it will be four months.(LIKE I SAID...) so lets schedule it for march first." Whatever doc. So then he gives me the good news," you are doing a great job with the injections!-its probably your husband who does it, so tell him good job" Its a joint effort, thank you very much, but I'm sure he will be thrilled with your praise!
The other Doctor apt. went better. I saw my ob for the first time with this baby I'm gonna have and I had a little ultrasound and everything is going good. I saw his or her(hopefully her) heartbeat and to boot got a bonus Pap smear!

a week without the kids
So I thought that what I needed was a week without the kids. Somehow this miraculously happened and so I planned how I would utilize every moment of the day and play with wild abandon at night. I dreamt about how industrious I would be, doing double workouts, washing base boards, organizing everything, scrap booking in all my spare moments. I did workout twice... this week(probably my lowest in a year). I did stare at the base boards alot while I layed on the floor between being sick. I did scrapbook with my friends, which means I got next to nothing accomplished.I organized absolutely nothing. I knew that the grayness of January and not feeling good had gotten me down and I thought that my kids were part of the problem. But, at the risk of sounding super sappy, My kids are the sunlight in my life. I have to admit it, I missed them! crazy I know. they are what make me laugh. An although it was nice to clean the house and have it stay clean and not have to listen to cartoons all day I am glad they are home.

new decade resolution
For the last couple years I have thrown caution to the wind and said to heck with new years resolutions. what good have goals ever done me? not much. But then the other day in spin class at the gym, as the instructor had us increase the tension every few minutes she had us picture something we regretted or felt ashamed of from the past year. As it became harder and harder to pedal, she talked about how we are carrying all this remorse and guilt around with us. At last when we could barely push at all she had let some tension off a little at a time as we imagined letting each bad habit or action go one at a time. I have to say it was the first time Ive had a remotely spiritual experience at the gym. But I now have a new decades resolution and that is... Live Clean.
clean spiritually, clean materially, clean physically. I'm gonna stop putting crap into my body. I'm gonna stop spending money on things I don't need. and try my best to keep my mind clean from negativity. Thats the goal, so I dont have all this extra junk (and pounds)to carry around next year. It will be hard but hopefully not impossible.
Oh and I want to work with Ty on reading every day

Happy New Year!
First a little known fact...
Me and clay met on new years eve a decade ago. I should tell the story but its so long and although very funny..OK I'll tell it. to preface:Both of us were serving missions in the Rochester new york missions. So I was transferred that very day into a new area and had TWO new companions. We were told no proselyting after 6 cuz everyone was freaking out since it was y2k. my companions had been having an ongoing prank war with the elders in our area (I of course did not approve)so they decided to use this free time to pull a prank on them. They bought a bunch of confetti etc. to put in their car. We drove to the Elders house( clay being one of the elders) and proceeded to do some breaking and entering. If I would have known Clay at all or I mean Elder Anderson, i would've been a lot more stealthy, but we did way to much giggling and got caught. the Elders then made a deal with us. they told us the other elders were coming over and to hide in this shed and then do the prank on their car instead. Now if I had known Elder Anderson at all i wouldn't have believed a word he said, but naively, believing him to be a nice guy, did as he said and hid in the shed with the bag of confetti. After probably a good 45 minutes I looked in the bag to discover it was full of rotten bananas and pretzels! So we busted out of there only to find our car covered in peanut butter and honey. so come to find out, Elder Anderson is NOT a nice guy! But clay my husband is the best and I'm so glad I had the ability to forgive and give him another chance and I'm looking forward to 10 more years with him!
Happy New Year!
